Hello! I am Donna.
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in October 2012. My first oncologist thought I would live for about four months. Wow!
Regardless of dire predictions and life expectancies, my husband and I decided that we were not going to give lung cancer too much power over our lives. In fact, we decided we would continue to live our lives very much the same as we lived prior to receiving the devastating news that lung cancer was invading our lives.
No one is more surprised than we are that we are still living our lives very much the same as we did prior to cancer entering our lives. Five years and counting!! Take that, cancer!
I started this blog when I was first diagnosed. My idea was to give others facing a similar diagnosis a look into my journey. I expected it to be a short blog. Something that maybe my family could look back at after I was gone.
I have written the blog in spurts. When I am writing it, I always vow to myself to do better. Then, life seems to intervene. And, awhile passes when there are no posts. I’ve recently gone to a new blogging program. Learning pains abound! Please be patient.
When I do write a blog, I tend to post lots of pictures. I am not much of a photographer, but I like taking and sharing photos anyway! I think they help bring hope.
I love to hear from you. I promise I will be responsive. Your comments will likely drive the content of this blog.
If you like this blog, please share it! I would be most appreciative!!
